About Carina

Carina C. Zona is a developer evangelist, tech conference speaker, advocate, photographer, crocheter, gluten-free baker, and certified sex educator.

Carina is the founder of CallbackWomen, whose mission is to radically increase gender diversity at the podium of professional programmers’ conferences. She has been an organizer & instructor for many other tech nonprofits.

She spends a lot of time thinking about the unexpected cultural effects of our decisions as programmers. Her most popular talks, “Consequences of an Insightful Algorithm” and “Schemas for the Real World”, challenge others to do that too.
